First, visit the Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square.
Enjoy exploring the museum and learning from your guide about its history. The Egyptian Museum is one of the most important attractions in Cairo.
The foundation stone was laid on April 1, 1897, designed by the French architect Marcel Dorgnon, and it was inaugurated in 1902 during the reign of King Abbas Helmy II. It is the largest museum of ancient Egyptian art worldwide, with over 150,000 artifacts displayed in more than 100 halls.
Afterward, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant. Continue to Islamic Cairo to explore Khan El Khalili Bazaar and El Muizz Street.
Here you will experience the real Egyptian lifestyle and culture. Egyptian culture is a mix of influences, with Arabic as the main language and Islam as the dominant religion. The Step Pyramid is part of a large funerary complex meant to serve King Djoser in the afterlife. Surrounded by a massive limestone wall, it includes temples, chapels, and tombs covering 16 hectares. The carvings and hieroglyphs inside provide insights into religious practices and daily life of the ancient Egyptians.

Day 3: Citadel of Saladin – Alabaster Mosque – Coptic Quarter – Hanging Church – Transfer to Cairo Airport
Around 9:00 AM, your guide will take you to the Citadel of Saladin, one of the most important monuments of Islamic Cairo and among the greatest medieval fortifications. Located on the Muqattam Hills, it offers breathtaking panoramic views of Cairo.
The Citadel witnessed key historic events until the end of the Muhammad Ali dynasty in 1952, when the modern Egyptian Republic was founded. Among its highlights is the Mosque of Muhammad Ali Pasha, which dominates the citadel. Other monuments include the Mosque of Sultan al-Nasir Muhammad, the Mosque of Sulayman Pasha, and several museums such as the Police Museum, the Military Museum, and the Al-Jawhara Palace Museum.
Afterward, enjoy lunch in another local restaurant.
The Coptic Quarter
Known as Mogama’ El Adyan (Interreligious Complex), it is one of the oldest parts of Cairo. It dates back before the city’s foundation by the Fatimids in 969 AD.
The Coptic Quarter is the center of Christianity in Old Cairo and preserves some of the earliest churches in Egypt, dating back to the 4th century. It is also believed that the Holy Family stayed here briefly during their flight into Egypt.
The Hanging Church (Saint Virgin Mary’s Coptic Church)
Built in 690 AD, the church is called the “Hanging Church” (El Moallaqa) because it was constructed above the gatehouse of the old Roman fortress. It is the first basilica-style church in Egypt and houses 110 icons, the oldest dating to the 8th century.
