Pyramids of Giza: Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos — the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. The Great Pyramid stands 137 metres tall and contains around 2.3 million stone blocks. Plus the Great Sphinx and the Valley Temple of Khafre.
After lunch: the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) — one of the world's largest museums with over 100,000 artefacts, including the complete Tutankhamun collection of more than 5,000 objects discovered in 1922 after 3,500 years.

Saladin Citadel: The 12th-century medieval fortress overlooking Cairo — one of the finest examples of Islamic military architecture in the world, with a panoramic view over the entire city. Inside, the Alabaster Mosque of Muhammad Ali — an Ottoman masterpiece with twin minarets and alabaster walls.
After lunch: the Coptic Quarter — one of the world's oldest Christian neighbourhoods. The Hanging Church (Al-Muallaqah), built in 690 AD, houses 110 ebony icons dating back to the 8th century. Then Khan el-Khalili Bazaar and El Moez Street — Cairo's legendary oriental market since the 14th century.

Karnak Temple: The largest temple complex ever built by human hands — covering 247 hectares and representing the combined achievement of generations of pharaohs over 2,000 years. Its legendary hypostyle hall of 134 columns — some reaching 24 metres — is one of the most breathtaking spaces in ancient architecture.
After lunch: Luxor Temple — built by Amenhotep III around 1400 BC and expanded by Ramses II. Many pharaohs are believed to have been crowned here. Its avenue of sphinxes connects it to Karnak, 3 km to the north.

Valley of the Kings: The royal necropolis of the New Kingdom pharaohs (16th–11th century BC) — 63 known tombs carved into the limestone cliffs of the West Bank, including the tomb of Tutankhamun. Mobile photography without flash is now free of charge.
Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut: The spectacular terraced temple of Egypt's most famous female pharaoh — rising from the desert floor into the limestone cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Colossi of Memnon: Two towering statues of Amenhotep III standing 18 metres tall — quarried in Cairo and transported over 700 km to Luxor.
