From Sharm El Sheikh | Cairo and Alexandria by Plane

Day 1:

Pick-up and Flight:
Your driver will pick you up from your hotel in Sharm El Sheikh at around 4:00 AM and transfer you to Sharm El Sheikh Airport. The domestic flight to Cairo takes about one hour.

Arrival in Cairo:

• Welcome to the capital of Egypt – Cairo.
• Your experienced German-speaking tour guide will meet you at the International Airport in Cairo (in front of the exit).
• He will be waiting with a sign with your name.
• In the vehicle, you’ll receive a welcome drink such as cola or water.

Visit to the Pyramids of Giza:
With your personal Egyptologist, you’ll visit the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinos as well as the famous Sphinx and the Valley Temple opposite the statue.

The Great Pyramids of Giza on the outskirts of Cairo are not only an architectural masterpiece but also a symbol of the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization. As the last surviving wonder of the ancient world, they have fascinated scholars, tourists and historians for centuries.

Lunch:
Lunch will be served in a good restaurant. Afterwards, you will continue with your private vehicle to the Egyptian Museum.

Egyptian Museum:
Enjoy a visit to the Egyptian Museum and learn fascinating details about the history of the exhibits from your guide.

Overnight:
At the end of the day, you’ll be transferred to your hotel in Cairo for an overnight stay.

Day 2:

Pick-up and Drive to Alexandria:
After breakfast, you’ll be picked up from your hotel in Cairo. Together with your guide, you’ll travel in a private air-conditioned luxury vehicle to Alexandria.

• The journey takes about 3 hours.
• Enjoy the scenery on the way and listen to interesting information from your guide.
• Upon arrival, you’ll visit the most beautiful sights of Alexandria.

Kom El Shoqafa Catacombs:
Beneath the bustling city of Alexandria lies one of the most fascinating archaeological wonders of the ancient world: the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa. This necropolis from the 2nd century AD is an impressive testimony to the blend of Egyptian, Greek, and Roman cultural influences that shaped Alexandria during the Roman era.

Qaitbay Citadel:
The Qaitbay Citadel was built in 1477 AD on the site of the famous Lighthouse of Alexandria—one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, which was destroyed by an earthquake in the 14th century.

Pompey’s Pillar:
Pompey’s Pillar is a Roman triumphal column in Alexandria and the largest of its kind outside the imperial capitals of Rome and Constantinople. It is considered the only free-standing column in Roman Egypt and one of the largest ancient monoliths in the world.

Return Flight to Sharm El Sheikh:
At the end of the tour, you’ll be transferred with your guide back to Cairo Airport for your domestic flight to Sharm El Sheikh. At Sharm El Sheikh Airport, your driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.
