🔺 Pyramids of Giza: Your first destination is the Pyramids of Giza – the only surviving wonder of the ancient world and one of the most visited sites on any Egypt tour from Cairo. You will explore all three pyramids: Cheops (Khufu), Chephren, and Mykerinos, followed by the nearby Valley Temple – one of the oldest stone structures ever built.

🦁 Great Sphinx: From the panoramic plateau, you will enjoy a sweeping view of the Great Sphinx, the legendary guardian with the body of a lion and the face of King Chephren, standing watch over the ancient funerary complex for over 4,500 years. An optional entrance to the Great Pyramid interior or a camel ride is available at additional cost.

🏛️ The Great Pyramid of Cheops: Known in antiquity as Ekhet Khufu (“Horizon of Cheops”), the pyramid contains an estimated 2.3 million stone blocks, with a base measuring 227.5 metres and an original height of 146.5 metres. 🏺 Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM): The largest archaeological museum on the planet, located just minutes from the Pyramids of Giza. The museum houses over 100,000 authentic artefacts spanning more than 5,000 years of pharaonic civilisation, including the legendary treasures of Tutankhamun – the golden mask, royal jewellery, and sacred objects that lay undisturbed in his tomb for over 3,500 years until their discovery in 1922.

⏰ Very early in the morning – at approximately 3:00 AM – you will depart Aswan in a private air-conditioned vehicle for one of the most awe-inspiring destinations on your 3-day tour from Cairo: the Temples of Abu Simbel, located near Egypt’s southern border with Sudan, approximately 3 hours from Aswan.

🗿 Temple of Ramses II – Abu Simbel: Carved directly into a sandstone cliff in the 13th century BC, the Great Temple of Abu Simbel is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Egypt’s most extraordinary monuments. Its four colossal seated statues – each standing over 20 metres tall – have stood guard at the temple entrance for more than 3,000 years. The interior walls are covered in vivid reliefs depicting Ramses II’s military campaigns, most notably the Battle of Kadesh.

👑 Temple of Queen Nefertari: Directly adjacent stands the Temple of Nefertari, also known as the Temple of Hathor. Built as a rare honour by Ramses II for his beloved queen, it is one of the few temples in ancient Egypt dedicated to a queen rather than a deity. The six colossal statues at its façade are a testament to the exceptional place Nefertari held in pharaonic history.

💧 Aswan High Dam: One of the most significant engineering projects of the 20th century. Conceived under President Gamal Abdel Nasser and built with support from the Soviet Union, construction began in 1960 and was completed in 1970. The dam transformed Egypt, controlling the annual Nile floods, generating vast amounts of hydroelectric power, and dramatically expanding irrigated agriculture. Its construction required the relocation of over 40,000 people and the monumental rescue of the Temples of Abu Simbel from the rising waters of Lake Nasser.

🌿 Temple of Philae: One of Egypt’s most beautifully preserved ancient temples, dedicated to the goddess Isis. As part of the same UNESCO rescue mission that saved Abu Simbel, the entire temple was dismantled and reconstructed on the nearby Agilkia Island. Today it stands as a powerful symbol of cultural resilience and offers a rare opportunity to experience ancient Egyptian art, architecture, and spirituality in a remarkably intact setting.

⛏️ Unfinished Obelisk: Still lying in the ancient granite quarries of Aswan where it was abandoned thousands of years ago. Had it been completed, it would have been the largest obelisk ever carved in ancient Egypt, standing approximately 42 metres tall. A crack discovered in the granite during construction forced workers to leave it in place – an extraordinary window into the quarrying methods of the pharaonic era.
