From Sharm El Sheikh | Cairo two days by plane

Day 1:

You will be picked up early in the morning from your hotel and driven to Sharm El Sheikh Airport for your flight to Cairo (flight time approx. 1 hour).
Our driver will take you directly to the airport, where you will board your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival, you’ll be met by our German-speaking tour guide, who will accompany you throughout your day tour in Cairo.

We start the full-day tour with a visit to Sakkara, about 30 km southwest of Cairo. There, you will visit the Step Pyramid, built for King Djoser – a major milestone in the development of pyramids.

Next, we continue to Dahshur, about 10 kilometers south of Sakkara. Here, King Sneferu built the famous Bent Pyramid and the Red Pyramid. The Pyramids of Dahshur were an important learning experience for the ancient Egyptians, as they marked the transition from step pyramids to smooth-sided pyramids.

Enjoy a typical Egyptian lunch to recharge your energy.

Afterwards, admire the Great Pyramids of Giza – Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos. Then explore the Valley Temple, where priests mummified the body of King Chephren. Finally, visit the world-famous Sphinx, the legendary guardian with the head of a king and the body of a lion.

In the evening, you will be transferred to your hotel near the Pyramids.

Day 2:

After breakfast, you’ll check out of the hotel.
The second day in Cairo begins with a visit to the Egyptian Museum.
Here you’ll find antiquities from the early Pharaohs up to the 30th Dynasty. In the Egyptian Museum, you’ll also see artifacts from the Old, Middle, and New Kingdom. The highlight is the golden mask of King Tutankhamun.

Afterwards, enjoy a lunch at a restaurant by the Nile.

Then we head to the Coptic Quarter and visit the famous Hanging Church (Al-Muʿallaqa), built on the gates of the Babylon Fortress. On its beautifully carved iconostasis hang many ancient icons, including scenes of the Revelation, the Holy Birth of Jesus, John the Baptist, as well as icons of angels and the Twelve Apostles.

We continue to the Khan El Khalili Bazaar. The many shops in this area are famous for selling brass, copper, leather, silver, gold, and much more.

Finally, enjoy a walk along the historic El Moez Street, an open-air museum with numerous buildings from the early Islamic period.

At the end of the day, you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for your return flight to Sharm El Sheikh.
After arriving in Sharm El Sheikh, your private transfer bus will take you back to your hotel — after an unforgettable trip to Cairo by plane.
