Description for 12 Days Egypt Round Trip
Day 1: Arrival in Cairo – Transfer to the hotel and overnight stay
Welcome to Egypt’s capital, Cairo.
Your experienced English-speaking tour guide will greet you at Cairo International Airport (before the exit) holding a sign with your name.
You will be transferred in a private, air-conditioned luxury vehicle to your hotel.
You will receive a welcome drink (cola and water) in the car.
At the hotel, your guide will assist with check-in and review the itinerary of your 12-day private tour, confirming the pick-up times for each day.
Afterward, enjoy your free time and overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Egyptian Museum – Old Cairo – Khan El Khalili – El Moez Street
After breakfast, your private guide will accompany you on a visit to the Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square.
Discover the vast collection and learn from your guide about its rich history.
Founded in 1897 and opened in 1902, the museum holds over 150,000 artifacts from ancient Egypt.
Then you’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.
Afterward, continue to Islamic Cairo, exploring the famous Khan El Khalili Bazaar and the historic El Moez Street.
You’ll get a real sense of Egyptian daily life and culture. Try local dishes like Koshari, Ful Medames, Baklava, and Basbousa in the area.
Return to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 3: Pyramids of Giza – Sphinx – Saqqara
After breakfast, visit the Giza Plateau with your guide to explore the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple.
These iconic structures are the last remaining wonder of the ancient world and a lasting symbol of Egypt’s glory.
Lunch will be served at a good restaurant.
In the afternoon, head to Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest stone pyramid ever built.
Return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 4: Bahariya Oasis – Al-Marsous Mountain – Crystal Mountain – Desert Camping
At around 6:00 AM, begin your desert adventure in a private Jeep with your guide.
(Don’t forget to request your breakfast box from the hotel reception.)
Enjoy a journey through the stunning White Desert, famous for its surreal limestone formations.
Camp under the stars and explore highlights like the Crystal Mountain, the Black Desert, the Golden Mummies Valley, and the Temple of Alexander the Great.
Overnight desert camping with full board.
Day 5: White Desert – English Mountain – Return to Cairo
After breakfast in the desert, continue your adventure through the White Desert, a 20-km stretch filled with unique formations.
Stop at English Mountain, then return to Cairo and check in at the hotel.
Your guide will inform you of your pick-up time for the next day. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 6: Flight to Luxor – Karnak Temple – Luxor Temple – Embark Nile Cruise
After breakfast, transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Luxor.
Your German-speaking guide will meet you and offer welcome drinks (water and cola).
Visit the Karnak Temple, an enormous complex that reflects the spiritual and political heart of ancient Egypt.
Then visit the Luxor Temple, dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship and one of the most beautiful temples in Egypt.
After the tour, check into your Nile cruise and enjoy lunch on board.
Day 7: Valley of the Kings – Hatshepsut Temple – Colossi of Memnon
After breakfast on board, visit the Valley of the Kings, the royal burial site of pharaohs from the New Kingdom.
Then visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, beautifully carved into the cliffs, and the massive Colossi of Memnon.
Return to the ship for lunch, and enjoy the rest of the day relaxing onboard. Dinner and overnight on the cruise.
Day 8: Edfu Temple – Kom Ombo Temple
Sail to Kom Ombo, have breakfast, and visit the double temple dedicated to Sobek and Horus.
Then sail to Edfu, where you will enjoy lunch on board, afternoon tea, and dinner.
Visit the Edfu Temple, one of the best-preserved in Egypt, dedicated to Horus.
Overnight on the cruise.
Day 9: Philae Temple – High Dam – Unfinished Obelisk
After breakfast, visit the Aswan High Dam, a major engineering feat that controls the Nile’s floods and generates electricity.
Then visit the beautiful Philae Temple, saved from flooding and dedicated to Isis, and the Unfinished Obelisk, a massive structure that reveals ancient stone-carving techniques.
Return to the cruise ship for overnight stay.
Day 10: Abu Simbel Temples – Flight to Cairo – Overnight
Early morning, drive (approx. 3 hours) in a private A/C vehicle with your Egyptologist to the spectacular Abu Simbel Temples, carved into a mountainside and dedicated to Ramses II and Queen Nefertari.
Fly from Aswan to Cairo, where your guide will meet you and transfer you to the hotel.
Receive welcome drinks and help with check-in. Your guide will confirm tomorrow’s pick-up time for Alexandria.
Overnight in Cairo.
Day 11: Alexandria – Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa – Qaitbay Citadel – Pompey’s Pillar
After breakfast, depart for Alexandria (approx. 3 hours).
Visit the Catacombs of Kom El Shoqafa, a Roman-era tomb complex blending Egyptian, Greek, and Roman styles.
Explore the Qaitbay Citadel, built in the 15th century on the ruins of the ancient Lighthouse of Alexandria.
Then visit Pompey’s Pillar, a massive granite column and one of the largest monoliths ever erected.
After lunch, return to Cairo. Your guide will inform you of the next day’s pick-up time. Overnight in Cairo.
Day 12: Citadel of Saladin – Alabaster Mosque – Coptic Quarter – Hanging Church – Transfer to Cairo Airport
After breakfast, visit the impressive Citadel of Saladin, a medieval fortress housing several structures, including the iconic Alabaster Mosque.
Continue to the Coptic Quarter and explore the famous Hanging Church, one of the oldest Christian buildings in Egypt.
At the end of the tour, transfer to Cairo Airport for your departure flight.
