Hurghada Neighbourhoods, Locations and Districts
Hurghada consists of three districts: El Dahar, Al Sakkala and Al Ahyaa:
El Dahar is an old city full of typical Egyptian life. Local markets (souks), local shops and the fish market invite you to stroll and shop. There are more Egyptians here than tourists, especially in the evening hours.
Al Sakkala is a tourist area that has grown up in the foothills around the old port. It is a dynamically developing holiday destination with many hotels, shops, shopping centers, cinemas, clubs, restaurants, which are open until late at night and are mainly visited by tourists.
Al Ahyaa starts about 22 km north of Hurghada and is located on the coastal road between El Gouna and El Dahar. It is characterized by a small number of local residents, and a large number of completed or under construction hotels. At the moment, it is impossible to enjoy the oriental flavor there.
Hurghada offers a variety of entertainment that is not found anywhere else on earth. Such as quad biking with the Bedouin tribe in the Sahara (desert), camel riding, boat trips to the islands of Paradise, Orange, Utopia, swimming in the warm sea, diving and snorkeling around colorful corals.
Tourists should also combine their vacation with visits to other prominent places such as the relatively nearby city of Luxor or Cairo with its museum and pyramid.
