🌅 Morning – Hotel Pick-up & Briefing

🚗 ~8:30 AM – Hotel pick-up: Memnon Reisen collects you directly from your hotel lobby and transfers you comfortably to the marina. No taxi, no searching – we come to you.

📋 Dive briefing: At the marina, your certified dive instructor is waiting. You receive a clear, simple introduction to the diving equipment, breathing technique, hand signals and safety rules. The whole briefing takes about 15 minutes – straightforward and stress-free.

💡 Feeling nervous? Completely normal. Your instructor works entirely at your pace. You decide how far and how deep you go – no pressure, no group, just you and your instructor.
🤿 First Intro Dive – First Encounter with the Coral Reefs

Boat trip to the first dive site: The boat takes you out to one of Hurghada’s most beautiful coral reefs. Even the boat ride itself gives you a first taste of the Red Sea coast.

🤿 First guided intro dive: Together with your instructor, you descend for the very first time – to approximately 5–7 metres depth. The water is warm, clear and calm. Colourful fish, vibrant coral formations and the extraordinary feeling of weightlessness are waiting for you.

🌊 The Red Sea from below: Hurghada’s reefs are among the most biodiverse in the world – parrotfish, lionfish, moray eels, sea turtles and glowing corals in every colour imaginable. Your instructor points out the highlights as you go.

💡 On your first dive, focus on breathing slowly and steadily. Your instructor handles everything else. Most guests say the feeling of weightlessness is the biggest surprise.
☀️ Break on the Sun Deck & Lunch on Board

☀️ Sun deck break: Between the two dives, you relax on the boat’s sun deck – enjoy the sea breeze, take in the views or snorkel in the crystal-clear water around the boat.

🍽️ Fresh lunch on board: A freshly prepared lunch plus mineral water and soft drinks are served on board – fully included, no extra charge.

💡 Wait at least 30–45 minutes between dives. Use this time to rest, eat and enjoy the surroundings. The second dive will feel much more relaxed than the first.
🤿 Second Intro Dive – Deeper into the Underwater World

🤿 Second dive at a second reef: Your second intro dive takes you to a different coral reef – a completely new underwater landscape. With the confidence gained from the first dive, you can now truly relax and absorb everything around you.

Why two dives? The first dive is about getting comfortable. The second is when the magic happens. Most guests say the second dive is when they fell in love with the underwater world – and that’s exactly why we include it as standard.

🐢 Keep your eyes open: sea turtles, octopus and reef sharks are frequently spotted on afternoon dives in Hurghada’s reefs.

🏠 Return to Marina & Hotel Transfer

Frequently Asked Questions – Intro Diving Hurghada

Do I need a dive licence for intro diving in Hurghada? +
No – our intro diving programme in Hurghada requires no dive licence, no PADI certification and no prior experience whatsoever. It is designed specifically for complete beginners. Your certified instructor accompanies you throughout both dives.
What is the difference between intro diving and a PADI course? +
Intro diving (also called try diving or discover scuba diving) is a one-day experience for complete beginners – no exam, no certification, just two guided dives under instructor supervision. A PADI Open Water course is a multi-day programme that results in a recognised dive certificate, allowing you to dive independently worldwide. Our intro diving day is the perfect way to discover if you enjoy diving before committing to a full course.
How deep will I dive during the intro dive in Hurghada? +
Approximately 5–7 metres depth – completely safe for beginners and deep enough to experience the full beauty of Hurghada’s coral reefs. Your instructor determines the exact depth together with you based on your comfort level at all times.
Is intro diving in Hurghada safe for non-swimmers? +
Yes – you do not need to be a strong swimmer. Basic comfort in water is helpful, but non-swimmers can participate with instructor support and buoyancy equipment. You should be able to float on the surface and follow simple hand signals. If you have any concerns, please mention them when booking so we can advise accordingly.
Why does Memnon Reisen offer two dives instead of one? +
On the first intro dive, you get used to the equipment, the breathing rhythm and the underwater environment. Many beginners feel a little nervous at first – which is completely normal. By the second dive, most guests are relaxed, confident and able to truly enjoy the coral reefs. Two dives is simply a much better experience than one – and it’s included in the price.
What should I bring for my intro diving day? +
Please bring: swimwear, a towel, sunscreen (reef-safe if possible), sunglasses and a hat. All diving equipment is provided – wetsuit, mask, fins, BCD and regulator. A waterproof case for your phone is recommended if you want underwater photos.
How long before a flight should I stop diving? +
There must be a minimum of 18 hours between your last dive and any flight. Please do not book intro diving on the day before or the day of your departure. This is a standard safety rule for all scuba diving worldwide.
