Description for Private Hurghada City Tour + Hurghada Museum

Hurghada Museum
The Hurghada Museum is the first antiquities museum in the Red Sea Governorate. It is also the first of its kind, created through a collaboration between the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Red Sea Governorate, and the private sector. The museum’s construction was funded by the private sector. It houses 2,000 artifacts that tell the story of Egypt, spanning the ancient Egyptian, Greco-Roman, and Jewish periods to the Christian, Islamic, and modern eras. These artifacts highlight the museum’s theme, which is to showcase the concept of beauty in Egypt.

Marina
The Hurghada Marina, also known as the New Marina, opened on June 6, 2008. It’s a picturesque spot where both holidaymakers and locals can take leisurely strolls and enjoy the fresh evening air.

The marina features unique cafés and excellent restaurants at affordable prices. Visitors can also admire the luxurious yachts owned by wealthy Egyptian and Arab businessmen. A walk along the marina is truly a sight to behold.

Elmina Mosque
The Elmina Mosque is one of the newest attractions in Hurghada, completed in 2012 after a long construction period. It is a stunning example of modern Arabic art. Guests are welcome to visit outside prayer times, and women can borrow a robe (abaya) at the entrance to cover their hair, shoulders, and legs.

Spanning approximately 8,000 square meters, the mosque can accommodate up to 10,000 visitors. It features two minarets and 25 domes. During your visit, your German-speaking tour guide will provide detailed information about Islam, prayer traditions, and the significance of the call to prayer.

Next to the mosque, you’ll visit a boatyard where wooden boats are built and older boats are restored to their former glory.

Coptic Orthodox Church
Enjoy a visit to the newest Coptic Orthodox church in Hurghada. While Egypt is primarily an Islamic country, nearly 20% of its population are Christians.

Visitors are welcome to enter the church, where a German-speaking tour guide will share fascinating insights about Christianity. Learn about the frequency of mass, how children are baptized, and the festivals celebrated by Christians in Egypt. Discover why Christians in Egypt celebrate Christmas on January 7th instead of December 25th, as in Europe.

Fish Market
One of the most traditional and charming places to visit on a Hurghada city tour is the fish market. The newest market, located between the marina and the largest mosque, has replaced the old fish market and is now a modern and vibrant spot.

Here, you’ll see a variety of colorful sea fish and Nile fish, and observe locals trading and purchasing fresh catches. The bustling atmosphere and friendly locals make it a memorable experience, and you’re welcome to take photos with your guide.

Vegetable Market
Visit the lively fruit and vegetable market, known as the “Souk,” where locals shop daily. Here, you’ll find fresh produce sold by friendly traders and gain insight into everyday Egyptian life. Feel free to take photos, as the traders are welcoming and approachable.

Free Time
End your tour with a relaxing walk through the 3 km street bazaar, where you’ll find a McDonald’s. After this beautiful journey through Hurghada, we’ll head back to the hotel, leaving you with unforgettable memories.
