Dendera
Dendera, also called Tantarer, is located about 60 km from Luxor, in Thebes-West, opposite the modern provincial town of Qena. It was considered the capital of the sixth district of Upper Egypt by the ancient Egyptians. The Dendera Temple is considered to be the best preserved temple in Egypt.
Abydos
Abydos, where it all started. Abydos, the historic city that lies in the Nile Valley is a testament to the birth of a high culture on the Nile.
Abydos, Egypt
Since the beginning of Egyptian history, Abydos has been a pilgrimage center and a place of great religious importance. Osiris, the judge and ruler of the underworld, was particularly revered by the local residents and his cult was strictly followed. The deepest wish and highest honor of every Egyptian was to go on a pilgrimage to Abydos and finally to be buried in the consecrated earth of the god of the funerary cult.
The magnificent column facade of the temple of Seti I is dedicated to seven gods. Inside there are seven aisles for the funeral processions, unique in the architecture of Egypt. The columns and walls are richly decorated with oversized reliefs.
