Description for Egypt Round Trip 10 Days with Beach Holiday

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo, visit Old City, Khan El Khalili, and El Moez Street. Overnight in Cairo.

You are warmly welcomed on your first day in Egypt. You will be met by your German-speaking Egyptologist at Cairo Airport, holding a sign with your name and the name of our tour operator. You will receive welcome drinks in the vehicle such as cola and water. Then you will be transferred in your private, air-conditioned luxury vehicle to the hotel.

At the hotel, your guide will assist with check-in and go through your 10-day round trip itinerary with you to confirm pick-up times for each tour. Enjoy lunch in a local restaurant.

After lunch, visit Old Cairo, Khan El Khalili, and El Moez Street. In the heart of Islamic Cairo lies the Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a marketplace dating back to the 14th century. Originally founded as a resting place for caravanserais, it has evolved into a thriving center for trade and social interaction. The market is a labyrinth of narrow alleys packed with shops selling everything from traditional handicrafts such as beautifully woven carpets and intricate metalwork to spices and rare perfumes.

Return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 2: Visit the Pyramids of Giza, Sphinx, and Saqqara. Overnight in Cairo.

After breakfast, your personal Egyptologist will take you to see the Great Pyramids of Cheops, Chephren, and Mykerinos – the famous Sphinx and the Valley Temple opposite the great statue.

The Great Pyramids of Giza, on the outskirts of Cairo, are not only an architectural masterpiece but also a symbol of the grandeur of ancient Egyptian civilization. As the last surviving member of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, they have fascinated scholars, tourists, and historians for centuries. They embody the pinnacle of ancient Egyptian architectural skill and cultural achievement and remain a source of admiration and wonder.

Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. After lunch, visit the Saqqara complex and the first pyramid ever built – the Pyramid of Djoser. The Step Pyramid is the centerpiece of a larger funerary complex intended to serve Djoser in the afterlife. The complex, surrounded by a limestone wall over 10 meters high, includes temples, chapels, and other tombs spread over nearly 16 hectares. Intricate carvings and hieroglyphs within these structures provide insights into the religious practices and daily life of the ancient Egyptians.

Return to your hotel for overnight stay.

Day 3: Visit the Egyptian Museum, Coptic Quarter, and Hanging Church. Flight from Cairo to Aswan. Overnight in Aswan.

After breakfast, your private Egyptologist will escort you to visit the Egyptian Museum. Enjoy the visit and learn from your guide about the museum’s history. The museum is one of the most important attractions in Cairo. Its foundation stone was laid on April 1, 1897, based on the designs of French architect Marcel Dourgnon, and it was opened in 1902 during the reign of King Abbas Helmy II. It is the world’s largest museum of ancient Egyptian art, housing over 150,000 artifacts in more than 100 halls spread across two floors.

Lunch will be served in a local restaurant. Afterward, head to the Coptic Quarter to visit the Hanging Church. This church was built above the ruins of the Roman fortress of Babylon in Old Cairo, near the Coptic Museum. It features a courtyard divided into four sections by rows of marble columns, a semi-circular wooden ceiling, a granite baptismal font, and a marble pulpit supported by ten mosaic-covered columns dating back to the 11th century AD.

On the east side are five altars topped with wooden domes. The church’s ceiling was designed to resemble Noah’s Ark. The Hanging Church is famous for its icons, the oldest dating to the 15th century, while most others are from the late 18th century.

Transfer to Cairo Airport for your flight to Aswan. Upon arrival, you will be met by your tour guide holding a sign with your name. Transfer to your hotel in Aswan, where your guide will brief you on your Nile cruise itinerary and pick-up times. Overnight in Aswan.

Early morning (around 3:00 am), drive in a private air-conditioned vehicle to Abu Simbel (about 3 hours each way). Return to Aswan and embark on your Nile cruise. Lunch on board.

Day 5: Visit Philae Temple, High Dam, and Unfinished Obelisk. Overnight on the cruise.

After breakfast, visit the High Dam, Philae Temple, and the Unfinished Obelisk. Learn about their history from your guide, including the relocation of Abu Simbel temples to avoid flooding. Return to the cruise for free time.
