We start this 9-day Egypt tour from Hurghada, but if you want to start from Cairo, Luxor, or Marsa Alam, we will pick you up wherever you are. (We are flexible in this regard).

Itinerary for Egypt Round Trip 9 Days from Hurghada

First day - Transfer from Hurghada to Luxor & Visit Karnak Temple, Luxor Temple, and Embark on the Cruise

Around 6 AM, we pick you up from your hotel in Hurghada and drive you in a private luxury vehicle to Luxor (approx. 4 hours).
Don’t forget to request your breakfast box the day before.
A short break (~20 mins) is included along the way.
Upon arrival in Luxor, you will meet your experienced German-speaking Egyptologist.

Start the tour at Karnak Temple, a vast complex dedicated to the Theban gods and Pharaohs.
Then, enjoy lunch in a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the Luxor Temple, dedicated to the rejuvenation of kingship.

Finally, you’ll embark on your Nile cruise and enjoy dinner onboard.
Your guide will assist with check-in and inform you about the next day’s pickup.

Second day: Valley of the Kings, Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, Colossi of Memnon – Overnight on the Cruise

After breakfast, visit the Valley of the Kings, burial site of New Kingdom Pharaohs like Tutankhamun, Ramses II, and Hatshepsut.

After lunch, enjoy a one-hour Nile boat ride, then proceed to Hatshepsut Temple – an architectural marvel carved into limestone cliffs.

En route back to the ship, stop at the Colossi of Memnon, two massive stone statues.

Third day: Edfu Temple and Kom Ombo Temple – Overnight on the Cruise

After breakfast, visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to Sobek and Horus, then sail to Edfu.
Have lunch and afternoon tea onboard.

  • Edfu Temple: dedicated to the falcon god Horus, built during the Ptolemaic era.
  • Kom Ombo Temple: located north of Aswan, built in the Ptolemaic and Roman periods.

Return to the cruise for dinner and overnight.

Fourth day: Philae Temple, High Dam, Unfinished Obelisk – Overnight on the Cruise

After breakfast, explore Aswan’s attractions:

  • Philae Temple, dedicated to Isis, built between the 30th Dynasty and Roman era.
  • Aswan High Dam, built between 1960 and 1971, which created Lake Nasser.
  • Unfinished Obelisk, providing insights into ancient stone-working techniques.

Return to your Nile cruise for overnight.

Fifth day: Visit Abu Simbel – Flight from Aswan to Cairo – Overnight in Cairo Hotel

Early morning (~3 AM), drive to Abu Simbel (3-hour drive).
The Abu Simbel Temples, cut into the rock during the reign of Ramses II, are among the most magnificent monuments in the world.

After the visit, transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight to Cairo.
Upon arrival, your German-speaking guide will meet you and transfer you to your hotel with a welcome drink (water and cola).
The guide will help with check-in and review the itinerary and pickup times.

Sixth day: Giza Pyramids, Sphinx, Saqqara – Overnight in Cairo Hotel

After breakfast, visit the Giza Plateau, including the Great Pyramids, the Sphinx, and the Valley Temple.

Then continue to Saqqara, home of the Step Pyramid of Djoser, the oldest pyramid in Egypt.

After lunch in a restaurant, return to your hotel.

Seventh day: Egyptian Museum, Old Cairo, Khan El Khalili, El Moez Street

After breakfast, visit the Egyptian Museum at Tahrir Square, with over 150,000 artifacts.
The museum was opened in 1902 and remains the world’s largest collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts.

Then enjoy lunch, followed by a tour of Islamic Cairo, including Khan El Khalili Bazaar and El Moez Street – a UNESCO World Heritage Site full of medieval architecture.

Return to the hotel for overnight.

Eighth day: Saladin Citadel, Alabaster Mosque, Coptic Quarter, Hanging Church

After breakfast, visit the Saladin Citadel, built in the 12th century to protect Cairo, and the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali.

Continue to the Coptic Quarter, including the famous Hanging Church.

Return to your hotel for overnight.

Ninth day: National Museum of Egyptian Civilization (NMEC) – Return to Hurghada

After breakfast, visit the NMEC, which showcases Egypt’s heritage from prehistoric times to today, including royal mummies presented through modern interactive technology.

Enjoy lunch before your transfer to Hurghada (approx. 7-hour drive with a 20-minute break en route).
